Spark Thomasville Executive Director
When Rickela Reynolds first showed up at Spark Thomasville, she was a little shy.
She has come a long way.
Today, she sits on the Spark Thomasville Board of Directors, leading change with some of the city’s top change-makers.
In her early days, she ran “Rickela Does Film” but had a BIG problem.

Nobody knew about it! 🤫
“My main goal coming into Spark was to get myself out there,” she says. “Nobody knew what I did. Only a select few people knew.”
“Just me, my camera, and a wildly misplaced sense that good work would somehow magically get noticed.”
“I showed up at Spark Thomasville, and suddenly it was less ‘learn some business tips’ and more ‘completely transform how I see myself as an entrepreneur.’"
It was all about connections.
“I started talking. Then connecting. Then realizing these hardworking Thomasville business leaders actually cared about my success. ✨”
Here’s what she wishes everyone knew about Spark Thomasville:
“It’s not always about learning harder business skills. It’s about choosing what you do when the opportunity presents itself.”
The Spark Success Story: Rickela Edition
Because not all journeys are created equal, here’s the story.

#1: From Student to Board Member
Why this matters: “Now I sit on Spark Thomasville’s Board of Directors! How wild is that?”
“It’s exciting that I get to share ideas for making more impact in the arts community.”
#2: From Receiver to Giver
Why this matters: “My journey has come full circle. Now I’M the one helping others.”
“I had someone reach out to me from my church. She found out I was on the board and wanted to be involved with us. She has a degree in economics!”
Connections Matter
“After getting into Spark, it broadened my name and my work. And not only that, I made connections. Connections are a BIG deal.”
Confidence Grows
“I’m still an introvert, but I open up when I need to. I project my voice.”
“Through Spark’s friendly coaching, I didn’t just learn business stuff. I found my confidence too. Sometimes you just gotta speak up, even when it’s scary...” - Rickela Reynolds
