That's the heart of Spark.
Recently, Spark brought together entrepreneurs, alumni, Board of Directors, and community leaders for an evening designed to do more than network. The goal was to build genuine relationships, create meaningful conversations, and strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem that helps local businesses thrive.
Because when entrepreneurs and community leaders come together with a shared purpose, everyone grows.
Spark Conversations. Spark Connections. Spark Growth.
Every activity throughout the evening was intentionally designed to encourage authentic engagement and meaningful collaboration.
Rather than simply exchanging business cards, participants shared stories, explored new ideas, learned from one another, and discovered opportunities to work together long after the event ended.
The evening centered around three simple goals:
Spark Conversations.Creating opportunities for entrepreneurs and community leaders to listen, learn, and share experiences.
Spark Connections.Building relationships that lead to mentorship, partnerships, referrals, and new opportunities.
Spark Growth.Strengthening businesses, supporting entrepreneurs, and building a stronger entrepreneurial community for Thomasville and the surrounding region.
Designed to Build Relationships
Each activity served a purpose, encouraging participants to communicate, collaborate, and connect in different ways.
Speed Connections
The evening began with Speed Connections, where entrepreneurs, board members, alumni, and community leaders rotated through a series of conversations.
In just a few minutes, participants introduced themselves, shared their businesses or professions, and discovered common interests. By rotating throughout the room, everyone had the opportunity to meet new people, learn from different perspectives, and expand their professional network.
Blinq Digital Networking
Connections shouldn't end when an event is over.
Participants used Blinq to exchange digital business cards while networking, making it easy to stay connected after the evening concluded. The activity demonstrated how technology can strengthen professional relationships and make future collaboration effortless.
Business Taboo
One of the evening's most engaging activities was Business Taboo, a game that challenged participants to explain business concepts without using familiar keywords.
While the room was filled with laughter, the activity reinforced valuable entrepreneurial skills including communication, creativity, active listening, and problem-solving.
It also reminded everyone that communicating a vision clearly is one of the most important skills any entrepreneur can develop.
Listening to Entrepreneurs
Throughout the evening, participants shared ideas about how Spark can continue supporting entrepreneurs long after graduation.
A feedback survey revealed several recurring themes. Entrepreneurs expressed interest in opportunities for:
Business collaboration
Referral partnerships
Mentorship and business guidance
Funding and business growth support
Marketing, website, and social media assistance
Networking with fellow entrepreneurs and community leaders
Participants also shared ideas for future alumni and board gatherings, recommending topics such as leadership development, entrepreneurship, artificial intelligence, financial management, marketing, workforce development, community partnerships, wellness, and continued networking opportunities.
These conversations are already helping shape future programming and ensuring Spark continues to respond to the evolving needs of entrepreneurs.
