How Maurice Jackson Is Building Generational Wealth, and Helping Others Do the Same

When you walk into T'velo Brewing Company in downtown Thomasville, you'll find more than award-winning craft beer. You'll find a business built with purpose.
Ask Maurice about T'velo, and he'll gladly tell you about the crisp Rose City Light Lager, the customer-favorite Peach Cobbler Kettle Sour, or the brewery's signature Morning Ride Coffee Blonde, a beer inspired by his wife, Lin, and one she proudly calls "her baby." Those beers have earned awards across the region, found their way into restaurants throughout South Georgia and North Florida, and helped open the door to an exciting partnership with Florida State University. Before long, however, the conversation shifts from beer to something much bigger.
Generational wealth.
That simple phrase became the heartbeat of Maurice's story, and it perfectly reflects Spark's mission.
Raised in San Antonio, Texas, by his great-grandmother, Maurice learned the importance of hard work, perseverance, and treating people well. Those lessons stayed with him throughout his life and eventually inspired him and Lin to build something that could create opportunity not just for today, but for generations to come.
As Maurice explains,
"If I stay at Raymond James, that's great... but if I die, they're obligated to replace me. If we can do T'velo right, now we have this generational asset... create some generational wealth."
That vision is exactly why Spark exists.
Through education, coaching, connections, and access to resources, Spark exists to help entrepreneurs build professional-level incomes, create lasting assets, and strengthen the future of their families and communities.
Like many entrepreneurs, Maurice came to Spark looking to strengthen and grow his business while preparing for future opportunities. What he discovered was something every entrepreneur needs, a community willing to invest in their success.
"It's a lot easier if you have some people who have been there and can help you get on your way. There's just a lot more tools to get you up and going faster and be far more sustainable."
That belief is what makes Spark more than a business program.
It's an entrepreneurial ecosystem.
It's entrepreneurs learning from entrepreneurs. Coaches sharing real-world experience. Mentors opening doors. Volunteers giving their time. Community partners creating opportunities. Financial professionals helping business owners build strong foundations that last.
Maurice believes one of the greatest challenges entrepreneurs face isn't a lack of passion, it's having access to the right knowledge and the right people. He spoke about the importance of understanding business finances, taxes, leverage, and surrounding yourself with trusted professionals who can help you make wise decisions from the very beginning. He specifically recognized the value of Spark business experts like Ava O'Neal of O'Neal Consulting and Briana Butler of BFT Accounting & Tax Services whose guidance helps entrepreneurs build businesses on a strong financial foundation.
Maurice also believes successful entrepreneurs have a responsibility to reach back and help someone else climb.
Today, he has experienced Spark from multiple perspectives, as an entrepreneur, a Spark graduate, and now as a member of Spark's Board of Directors. Soon, he'll continue that journey by serving as a Spark coach, investing his experience in the next generation of entrepreneurs because he believes the strongest communities are built when entrepreneurs help other entrepreneurs succeed.
His confidence in Spark comes from experiencing its impact firsthand.
"It's well-crafted. It's not something we pulled offline... It has experience at this point... We're certainly looking to change lives... to create generational wealth... and help these entrepreneurs understand what they're taking on and know that they don't have to take it on alone."
Maurice didn't just describe Spark.
