The soy candles glowed softly in the bridal suite at the Omni. Music played. Intentional journaling cards waited on the table. And Batryse Rollins moved through the space like she’d done this a thousand times—because in a way, she had.
For 25 years, she’d been creating safe spaces for people to breathe, reflect, and heal.
She just hadn’t called it a business yet.
The Rebirth 🕯️
New Year’s Eve. Atlanta. The the Omni, overlooking Truist Park.
Batryse’s friend of 30 years is getting married and asks her to be her personal assistant for the day. Makeup artists come and go. The bride needs grounding. And Batryse does what comes naturally—she sets the atmosphere.
Candles. Music. Journaling. Presence.
She helps the bride process her emotions, reapplies makeup before the ceremony, runs errands, keeps everything aligned.
The bride says: “THIS IS YOU!”
On New Year’s Day, Batryse rebirths her brand.

Entrepreneurship Runs Deep 🏡
Batryse watched her grandmother sell homemade cakes from the kitchen. She watched her mother—a state employee—build a side business washing and pressing clothes for doctors who wanted their shirts “ironed to the teeth.”
“I saw my mom using her time to still be in the home, but making extra money,” Batryse recalls.
What Spark Unlocked 🔓
Batryse first encountered Spark Thomasville while supporting another entrepreneur at a pitch event. She knew immediately: this is where I need to be.
She attended workshops. Connected with DeShay and Earl at Thomasville Community Development. And when the cohort opened, she was ready.
Her Spark coach, Doug Shierling, saw something she couldn’t see yet.
“Counseling was always the strongest part of your business,” he told her. “Even when we worked your numbers, did the business plan, did everything.”
Batryse heard him. But she wasn’t ready—not yet.
“The candles were the tool,” Doug kept saying. “Your counseling component is the real business.”
It took the New Year’s Eve wedding for everything to click.

“Spark definitely aligned my business,” Batryse shares. “The creativity has always been inside of me.”
