For DiAngela Ellis, childcare is more than supervision; it’s about creating safe, structured environments where children can learn, grow, and thrive.

As a childcare entrepreneur and educator, DiAngela is passionate about helping aspiring providers successfully open and operate licensed childcare businesses, whether in-home or in a dedicated childcare facility. Through the Childcare Entrepreneur Cohort, she works to equip future providers with the knowledge, structure, and confidence needed to build sustainable programs that truly serve families.

Turning a Need Into a Solution

After seeing childcare centers struggle with staffing shortages and closures, DiAngela recognized a growing problem impacting families across the community.

Her vision is to develop a childcare substitute staffing service that would provide trained, qualified professionals to childcare centers in need of temporary support or emergency coverage.

“Families depend on childcare providers every day,” she shared. “When centers don’t have support, it impacts entire communities.”

Her goal is to help childcare programs remain open, compliant, and fully supported while ensuring children are cared for in safe and properly supervised environments.

Advocating for Licensed Childcare

DiAngela is also focused on raising awareness about the importance of licensed and properly operated childcare programs.

She understands that many people have a passion for helping children but may not fully understand the process, requirements, and safety standards involved in opening a childcare business. Rather than discouraging people, she wants to provide education, guidance, and real support to help them do it correctly.

Through mentorship and training, she helps aspiring providers navigate:

  • Licensing requirements

  • State regulations

  • Safety and compliance standards

  • Operational setup and planning

Her mission is to help more childcare businesses open the right way, creating safer environments for children and stronger businesses for providers.

A Passion Rooted in Early Childhood Education

DiAngela’s journey into childcare began years ago while working at Head Start alongside her former kindergarten teacher, who inspired her passion for early childhood education and child development.

Since opening her first summer camp in 2010, she has remained committed to helping children while also helping others build childcare programs with structure, organization, and intention.

Today, she continues guiding future childcare owners through the step-by-step process of launching compliant, sustainable childcare businesses.

Building More Than Businesses

Through the Childcare Entrepreneur Cohort, DiAngela teaches participants how to create strong foundations, not only for their business, but for the families they will serve.

Her approach emphasizes:

  • Safety and accountability

  • Strategic planning

  • Compassionate leadership

  • Long-term sustainability

She encourages aspiring entrepreneurs to step outside their comfort zone and pursue the vision they have for serving children and families.

“Just do it,” she said. “There’s a need, and there’s room for what you bring.”
